Wifi WealthSignal over noise.

You don't apply.
You're recruited.

No tiers. No packages. No "starter plan" designed to be outgrown. Twelve seats a year, and the only question that matters is whether the room is worse without you in it.

XII Seats. When they are taken you are told a date, not sold a lesser version.

§ I

The route in

Two doors. Neither of them is a checkout.

Someone already here puts your name forward.

Members may nominate one person a year. They are not paid for it, they cannot be paid for it, and their own standing is attached to how it goes. It is the single most expensive thing a member can spend, which is exactly why it works.

You write one paragraph and we read it properly.

Not a CV. Not your revenue. One paragraph on where you actually are and what the room gets from you being in it. Six people read every one. We answer all of them, including the noes, which most of them are.

A tunnel of old cypress trees with low sun breaking through the trunks.

What a seat buys

Eleven people who will tell you the truth about your work.

§ II

Everything, or nothing. There is no middle version.

I All five houses, live, weekly. Capital, Iron, Craft, Terroir, Presence.
II A permanent cohort of eleven others. Same people, year after year.
III Your work read and taken apart by faculty who still practise.
IV Four numbers posted every quarter, and people who remember what you said last time.
V The Ledger in full. Ninety-one entries behind the vault, fortnightly thereafter.
VI Residencies at Clos du Signal when beds open, billed at cost.
VII First refusal on every release from La Cave, before it reaches this site.
Binding

The Anti-Guru
Clause

Eight commitments, written into the member agreement. Enforceable, which is the only reason a promise is worth reading.

  1. We will never pay anyone a commission for bringing us a member. There is no affiliate programme and there never will be one.
  2. The price on this page is the price. It does not rise at midnight and it does not fall if you close the tab and wait for an email.
  3. There is no upsell. Nothing inside costs extra except residencies and wine, both itemised at cost.
  4. We will not tell you that you can replace your income in ninety days. The median member takes three to five years to change their situation materially, and we say so before you pay.
  5. No member's results will be presented as typical unless they are typical. Where we publish numbers we publish the median and the drawdowns.
  6. You may cancel in two clicks. No phone call, no email, no reason.
  7. We will not film you, quote you or use your name in marketing without asking each time, and no costs you nothing.
  8. If we break one of these, tell the cohort. Every member has standing to enforce this clause, and two have.

There is a very famous version of this business built on recruiting the people it claims to help. It made one man extremely rich and left a great many nineteen-year-olds poorer and angrier than it found them. The underlying idea, that ambition and discipline and taste can be taught, is correct. The execution was a scam. This is the honest version, and the absence of a referral bounty is the whole proof.

§ IV

Who this is not for.

Not for Anyone looking for passive income. Nothing here is passive. The name is a joke about where you can do the work, not whether you have to.
Not for People in debt they cannot service. Pay that first. Write in eighteen months and we will hold your place at today's price.
Not for Anyone who wants a network to extract from. Nobody sells to anybody here, and we remove people who try.
Not for Those who want to be told they are already doing enough. You will be told, kindly and specifically, where you are not.
Not for Anyone under twenty-one. We have tried. It does not work yet, and taking the money anyway would make us the thing we are arguing against.
§ V

Questions

Asked, and answered plainly.

Is this just Real World with better fonts?

The difference is structural, not aesthetic. That model pays members to recruit members, so its incentive is to grow the pyramid rather than improve the outcome. We pay nobody for referrals. Our only revenue is people choosing to stay, so the only thing we can do to make money is be worth staying for. There is also a real estate, faculty who still practise, and assessment you can fail.

Why no tiers?

Because tiers exist to make the middle option look reasonable, and because a cheap tier is a promise you will get a worse version of the thing you came for. Either the cohort is right for you or it is not. Splitting it into three price points would make us money and make the room worse.

What happens if I am turned down?

You get a written answer from a person, usually within two working days, saying why. About two in three paragraphs get a no. Roughly a quarter of those are a "not yet" with a specific thing to go and do, and a standing invitation to write again once it is done. Several current members are on their second or third attempt.

How long before this changes anything?

Physically, about fourteen weeks before you notice and nine months before anyone else does. Financially, three to five years for a material change, and that is the median rather than the best case. If you need money by Christmas this is the wrong purchase and we would rather you kept it.

Do I have to go to France?

No. Two of the longest-standing members never have. The domaine is where Terroir is taught properly and where the annual review happens in person, and it is genuinely the best part, but it is an addition rather than a gate.

Can I speak to a member first?

Yes, and we would rather you did. Ask, and we introduce you to two: one who is thriving and one who nearly left. Neither is briefed beforehand.

Is there a refund?

Cancel and you are not charged again, effective immediately, with the remainder of the month refunded pro rata. Residencies are refunded in full up to thirty days before, and at cost after. We have never contested one.

One paragraph. Six readers.

Tell us why
the room needs you.
